I am a dedicated science educator with over two decades of experience helping students unlock their full potential in the sciences. I currently teach science at Olchfa High School in Swansea.

As a former head of department and experienced secondary teacher, I specialise in simplifying complex scientific concepts and building the confidence students need to excel in their studies. My background covers secondary and further education in England and Wales. After earning my degree from University of Bath, I completed my PGCE at Cardiff Metropolitan University and have taught science from Key Stage 3 through to AS/A-Level Chemistry across multiple schools and colleges. During my time as head of department at two colleges in South Wales, I refined my teaching skills and completed an MSc in Education with the University of Southampton in 2023. I also learnt a great deal about effective support from my time as an ESTYN Peer Inspector.  I have a commitment to using educational technology and  achieved a  Microsoft "Innovative Educator Expert" award for my work using Microsoft OneNote.

Outside of teaching, in my spare time, I stay active in the local community as a qualified Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) referee and spend my summers as a Duke of Edinburgh Award leader. When I'm not on the field or helping students, you can usually find me out on the local trails mountain biking.

 

Whether preparing students for crucial GCSEs or mastering advanced A-Level Chemistry, my goal as a private tutor is to provide tailored, supportive, and highly effective coaching that helps every learner succeed.
